Our Present Situation
The Louis Rawls Foundation,an Illinois not-for-profit 501-(c) (3)charitable organization, operates two independent living facilities. These two facilities are known as Dorchester House and Woodlawn House.
The primary goal of Dorchester House and the Woodlawn House is to provide decent, safe, sanitary housing combined with a skilled case manager as the on-site house-manager to secure services for each resident. Residents will also receive a free nutritious dinner each day. Each resident will only be responsible for two meals per day and their weekly rent.
Dorchester House and the Woodlawn House are not meant to be permanent housing for individuals. They are meant to only be temporary housing to help individuals who may be in need of housing and supportive services. Our goal is to help individuals reach their goal of establishing an improved quality of life.
